This Foundation was started due to the GREAT Example that Don set for us all. He used
his vacation time to help others less fortunate.
ABOVE: are Flagler College Students in Colorado on their Alternative Break,
helping some needy Children in a Youth Home.
Funds from Don's Foundation, raised at this Event help to fund
and promotenice trips like this.
Don's Foundation is dedicated to encouraging College Students
to choose the Alternative Break,
where Students travel on their Vacation Breaks
to help others in need.
They certainly had FUN too! .....
and that's our Foundation Slogan.

“The 542d Engineering Detachment out of Savannah, GA,
Ran a simultaneous Don’s Friends 5K at Camp Marmal, Afghanistan on April 13th, 2013
Camp Marmal is a NATO camp, and the run attracted over 100 runners
from 10 different countries. Bruce Myhre of St. Augustine, who is deployed with the 542d,
was motivated to organize a Don’s Friends run in Afghanistan to spread the word
on Don’s Friends after running in the race the last two years.
Some of America’s (and the World’s) Finest ran this race in support of a great cause.”

using disposable, electronic tags attached to the bib number. Please wear your bib number

Packet pickup time is 2pm to 6pm on Friday, September 10th and
on Race Day morning (9-11-2021) starting at 7:00am. **FREE Park
Entrance for runners and volunteers on September 10-11th.

10K Cross Country Run
This 10k (6.2 mile) run through Anastasia State Park's beach, hammock, and salt
marsh takes you through some of St. Johns County's most beautiful terrain. The
race begins at the Island Beach Shop and Grill, proceeds with a beach loop, then
across pavement, dirt roads, and soil through the east nature trail and hammock
loop. Runners will hit the pavement and trail again as they head to the marsh loop.
The last leg of the run shoots the runners back down the main park road to the
finish line at the Island Beach Shop and Grill. This is a cross country run and
participants must be fit to run or walk on soft sand, uneven terrain, mixed
pavement types, and hills with sun exposure, heat, and humidity, etc.

5K Beach Run/walk
This 5K beach Run/walk starts and ends at the Island Beach Grill. This is a low tide
beach loop run/walk on hard packed sand beginning at 7:30am at low tide. This is
a Pristine, Beautiful Ocean Front location in St. Anastasia State Park.....No Homes,
No Buildings........nothing but miles of Beautiful Beach. The 10K and 5K start at the
same location, The 5K proceeds along the Ocean Front for 1.3 miles North, then
turn around and finish running South. Don't miss out on one of the most Beautiful
5K Beach Runs on the Planet !! PLUS.....the Best T-shirt in Running HISTORY !
(according to the designer).

This is for those who don't want to run but want that turtle shirt. You do not pay the fee for the 10k or 5k, but a reduced rate
to get the shirt. By doing this race you keep slots open for those who want to run since the races have limited slots available.
Sleep in and pick up your shirt on Friday. If you don't even want to pick it up on Friday, for $6 we will mail it to you. Go to the

Front State Park located in St.

PRISTINE Ocean Front Beach.
Ocean Front, Anastasia State Park is an
active Sea Turtle breading ground.
Our very popular graphics for the
Endless Summer Runs feature a New
Sea Turtle graphic each year. Our
Turtle Shirts are Very Popular. Each
runner will receive a Performance Tech
T-shirt featuring our full-color Turtle
graphic. Runners also receive a

But, Don set a GREAT example for us all....to Help Others in Need.
Don's Foundation is dedicated to encouraging College Students choose the Alternative Break, where Students
choose to travel on their Vacations breaks and Help others less fortunate.
We're so proud of the Great Example that Don has set for young Students.

to create this huge mural featuring 3 of our Endless Summer Sea Turtles.
